Golf was a part of Wigley’s life from the time his father took him, at age 9, to play Kings Valley Golf Course in Crescent City, California. Baseball was Wigley’s greatest passion while growing up in the orchards of Central California, but he kept his golf game sharp through his teen years, maintaining a top-four standing in the region. In college, he played baseball, then coached the sport for 10 years at the collegiate level, with stops in California, Colorado and Utah. In 2015, he reconnected with his family and moved to Oregon. When he wasn’t fishing, another passion, he worked part time at RVCC cleaning carts and picking range balls for tips and free golf. He eventually climbed the ranks to Snyder’s assistant.
